Councillor Mel Few presents Surrey Libraries with the Help at Home Award
Surrey Libraries, The Village Centre of Englefield Green, and Lynne Baxter and the Mole Valley Ponderers were among those honoured at the inaugural Living and Ageing Well Awards at this month.
The event, which was opened by Surrey County Council Chief Executive David McNulty, celebrates individuals, projects and services supporting older people in Surrey and making sure they feel included, safe and happy in their local community.
Surray Libraries won an award for supporting those who are unable to attend a library themselves, The Village Centre of Englefield Green were recognised for running free lifts to Egham Post Office for those isolated, and Lynne Baxter and the Mole Valley Ponderers were honoured for ensuring people with dementia have ongoing social support.
